Contrast

Contrast

For this exercise we had to take pictures of our face while in the dark holding up light to our face in different ways.  It showed me how the position of the light can make certain features stand out more.  Here are some pictures of the process.

Light from Below

It created some shadows above my eyes.

Light from Left Side

It created some emphasis on the left side of my face.

Light from the Right Side

It created some emphasis on the right side of my face.

Light from the Top

It created some emphasis on the top of my face.  Shadows are found towards the bottom.

We also worked on shading and doing it gradually.  I chose to do mine in black and white.  Below are the pictures of the process.

It was hard not being able to use cloth or your finger to blend the colors.

I tried not to make any big stripes of color.

The final product.
