Final Makeup Look

            For my final makeup design, I created the character Blossom, a flower fairy.  Blossom lives in the magical garden on the planet Flora.  She was created by the head fairy from a Marigold.  Blossom’s main job is to protect the Marigolds.  So, she transforms into a monarch butterfly to keep watch over them.  She waters them, gives them sunshine, and even sleeps inside of them.  When she is not fully a butterfly she has pointy elf ears, orange eyebrows and facial features, with butterfly wings throughout her skin.  Blossom loves getting to be in nature and see everyone visit the garden enjoy the Marigolds as much as she does.  Below are my pictures for primary research.

The first appliance that I made were my elf ears.  I had to mold them out of Moldable Polly Plastic Beads.  I had to heat up water and drop the beads in it to make them moldable.  I did a few attempts molding them around the wolf ears but ended up making them smaller and pointier to better fit my face shape.  Once they dried I painted them a peachy skin tone color.

                    

Then, I laid down a sheet protector, net, some latex, and then my butterflies to make them appliances.  I made my eyebrows by doing the same process but with orange hair.  

 

After all of my appliances were made I started with Basic Corrective makeup.

 After, I applied orange eyeshadow and added white dots on my lids. 

Then, I applied spirit gum to my appliances and waited until they were tacky.  I removed makeup from the areas where I was going to place my appliances.  Then I pressed all of the appliances to my face one at a time.  After, I added a lot of highlight to my nose and around my cheeks.

Then I stuffed my elf ears with some cotton balls so they would fit better and put some spirit gum on them.  I pressed them to my ears to make them stick.  I also added orange lipstick with liner, black eyeliner, and white to my lashes.
